Imrul Kayes has been out of the national team for a long time. This left-handed batter plays in the domestic league. Before saying goodbye to professional cricket, this 38-year-old cricketer has now signed up for coaching.
Sylhet Titans have appointed Imrul as the batting coach for the 12th season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The northeastern franchise of the country confirmed the matter in a message on social media.
Imrul played for Barisal in the last season of the BPL. He had his best time for Comilla Victorians in the country’s popular T20 tournament. Imrul has won multiple titles for the franchise as captain.
In total, Imrul has played a total of 115 matches for five teams in the BPL. He has scored 2364 runs in 113 innings batting. Strike rate 117.67. He has scored 11 fifties. Imrul is now living in Australia for most of the year at the end of his career. He has a cricket academy there. He officially started his coaching career by joining the Sylhet coaching panel.
Sylhet has appointed Sohel Islam as the head coach. He has experience working in the BPL before. Apart from this, this well-known face of the country’s cricket has worked in the Bangladesh national team and the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Mahmud Emon will be Sohel’s assistant. He worked for Sylhet Strikers in the BPL.
Syed Russell will be Sylhet’s pace bowling coach. This former pacer of the Bangladesh national team has experience working in the BPL for multiple franchises. Sylhet has appointed Enamul Haque Jr. as the spin bowling coach.
