Hasnat Abdullah alone is enough to stop the Awami League’s terrorism, said National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari. He said this at the ‘National Health Alliance (NHA) launch’ program, formed by NCP health professionals, at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Wednesday afternoon.
Inspired by the spirit of July, this new organization includes nurses, technologists, public health experts and physiotherapists in addition to doctors. NCP Chief Organizer (South) Hasnat Abdullah announced the committee. NCP Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Zara was also present at the time.
Nasiruddin said at the meeting, tomorrow (Thursday) will be the Awami League’s lockdown. All parties will be on the field tomorrow. Hasnat Abdullah alone is enough to stop the Awami League’s terrorism.
The NCP leader commented that one party has come out of the fascist regime. He said, even though they wanted to be free from the fascist rule, one party has walked out of this process. The BNP will not be able to prevent the referendum even after trying for 100 years because a large number of people in Bangladesh want reforms.
At the meeting, Tasnim Zara said, “During the dictatorship, treatment of people injured in the July Revolution was prohibited. However, the job of doctors and health workers was to provide medical services to people. There should not be any political identity. We never want political shadow in the health sector. The health sector needs radical changes. Even at this time, patients have to stay on the floor in our hospitals. Access to healthcare in this country is easy only for the powerful, but this was not supposed to happen. Such a picture is sad even after 54 years of independence. We have to change the entire picture from this fragile situation.”
Tasnim Zara also said, “We have not seen any of the proposals made by the Health Reform Commission being implemented. We need to strengthen our primary healthcare system. Whether the patient is rich or poor, getting service will be the main thing.”
