Milestone tragedy: Investigation reveals cause of plane crash

The investigation report into the crash of a fighter jet at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, has been submitted to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The report reveals that the plane crashed due to a pilot error. He failed to control the plane after taking off.

The investigation report was submitted to the Chief Advisor today (November 5). Later, Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced this at a news briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

Shafiqul Alam said that the investigation committee has made 33 recommendations, including recommending that the Air Force conduct training outside Dhaka considering public safety.

It is worth noting that a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed at the Haider Ali Bhaban of Milestone School and College campus on July 21. In this incident, 36 people including the pilot of the plane, Flight Lieutenant Md. Taukir Islam, and the school’s teachers, students, and a nanny were killed. More than a hundred people were injured.
